HI Mother,

HOW ARE YOU DOING? I'M SO SORRY THAT I DID NOT SEND EMAIL LAST WEEK. I REALLY TRIED SO HARD TO FIND A INTERNET CAFE BUT IT WAS PRETTY HARD TO FIND ONE WHICH IS NOT BUSY. WHAT IS GOING ON WITH MARY? IS SHE DOING DANCE OR WHAT? THAT DRESS LOOKS REALLY GOOD. HOW IS SUMMER GOING FOR YOU GUYS? LAST WEEK WE HAD A CONFERENCE WITH PRESIDENT AND SISTER SHULZ. THEY WERE SAYING GOOD BUY TO US.WHICH WAS PRETTY SAD.THEY ARE LIVING ON 30 OF THIS MONTH AND THE NEW PRESIDENT IS ARRIVING ON 28 OF THIS MONTH. I REALLY MISS YOU GUYS SO MUCH! TO BE HONEST WITH YOU. WE WATCHED TWO GAMES OF WORLD CUP.THE ONE WHEN GHANA PLAYED US AND THE ONE LAST NIGHT PORTUGAL  PLYING US WHICH WAS 2-2. 

MY CHAMPIONSHIP'S NAME IS CALLED ELDER **&^* FROM UGANDA.HE STAYS IN JINJA.MOM HERE WITH MY NEW COMPANION THINGS ARE NOT GOING ON OKAY. HE REALLY DRIVE ME CRAZY.THE FIRST DAY WHEN I WENT TO PICK HIM HE TOLD ME THAT HE DID SEND A LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT SAYING THAT HE DOES NOT WANNA BE WITH A WHITE COMPANION.HE WAS PRETTY HAPPY TO HAVE ME AND I WAS TOO. GUESS WHAT HE DOES? HE CALLS SISTER MISSIONARIES AT NIGHT WHICH IS NOT GOOD AT ALL. HE ALSO HAS A PHONE WHICH HE USES TO EMAIL HIS FRIENDS AT NIGHT. YOU KNOW WE ARE TWO BlACK GUYS AND TWO WHITE DUDES IN THE APARTMENT. SINCE HE COME IN THE APARTMENT HE NEVER TALK TO THE WHITE GUYS IN THE APARTMENT. I TRIED TO TALK TO HIM BUT HE DOESN'T WANT TOO. ONE TIME THE DISTRICT LEADER Heard HIM TALKING ON THE PHONE WITH THE SISTER THEN HE SAID NOT HE WAS NOT. FOR ME IN MY MIND I THINK THE REASON WHY HE TOLD PRESIDENT SHULZ THAT HE DOESN'T LIKE WHITE GUYS BECAUSE HE WANTED TO DO WHAT HE WANTS. I AM REALLY TRYING TO HELP HIM OUT.BUT EVEN RIGHT NOW HE IS NOT WITH ME. HE WENT WITH OTHER GUYS. FOR ME I STAYED WITH THE TWO WHITE GUYS IN MY APARTMENT. I LOVE YOU MOM!!!!!!!!

Hey there,

This week was the Transfer news and guess what? I'm staying in my area. my companion is living to go the new area called Takoradi. i thought that maybe it will be me living but it did not work out. I really knew that two of us one will be living this time because the president told me that we can't stay together forever. I'm really going to miss him so much! He has been really good friend. He taught me how to be are good missionary. Teaching the plan of salvation was pretty hard for me but he helped me know how to teach it better. i and elder Richards we were the first missionaries to come to this area were we are teaching the people were not serious at all. Then we started doing our best in searching for the new people. But now the area is really good. Our branch is now  building up with more people. Every body now know my name which is Kobwina Epofe in fani. In English epofie is Periwinkle. Then kobina is " Tuesday born" .  I'm now getting a Ugandan companion. which is pretty good. We have to go and pick him up on Wednesday. I m pretty excited that now i have to show him around. i also now have to start all the lessons which is wonderful. I haven't had any thing about him hopefully he will be a good guy. 

   Guess what we had on Wednesday last week for dinner? One of the church member prepared a cat for us. Which was nice of him! to me i was like there is no way i can eat cat. But then i decided to try it. Guess what? CAT is so so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it is way better than a dog meat. At first i wanted to try it but then i took like five pieces. Maybe even you guys can try to eat cat or the dog you will see how sweet it is. 

This was so cool yesterday i and my companion we were walking down the street then we found this crazy man holding the dirty book of Mormon i even wanted to talk to him But then my companion was like no. it was really amazing to me. In my mind i was think where he found the book of Mormon.Well maybe he will try to read it.Haha

HEY MY Dearest Mother, 

Everything is going great here. I'm pretty excited that Whitney she is living on her mission. Last week i did send are email to her saying how greatful  I'm for her choice to serve a mission. She told me that she is really excited to go. Which is pretty good!!!. About grandma judy. I was really thinking about that too. it will be really good if you send me her house address so that i can send her letters. how is she doing? maybe if you get achance to tolk to her you tell her that i appreciated the time that she had to come to my farewall party and also that i really miss her so much. Mother you are the best Mother forever!!!!!!!!! Thank you for everything that you are doing for me, i appreciate the caurage that you did give to so that i can serve a mission. If it was't you i would have not be where i'm now. I'm very greatful for your efort towordsme. I love you so much form the Moon and Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Mother.

It is sounders like you guys had so much fun back in Uganda. those are pretty cool pictures of you and Benson. i tried to email you but you were not replying. so i was really warred but you guys. Thank you so much for the money and also wishing me happy birthday. I love my companion so much! So this morning  he wake up at 6:00 so that he can make something for me. Guess what he made? he made pancake with syrup which was pretty good. i really don't like people to sing for me happy birthday  but four of them in the apartment had to sing happy birthday to me. which is nice of them! My birthday was pretty nice we went to do a service for someone which was cleaning the chicken pup and weeding in the garden. My mission coup also were there to help in the garden. 

Next Wednesday is the transfers. very body is scared to live their areas. i had a interview with the mission president and he asked me whether i like my companion and said to him that we are really good friends. Then he told me that you know you can't stay together forever and i said Yes. so now my companion thinks that i might train a new missionary. which will be awesome!        

Guess what? l just received  a letter form mason Stewart with $10. isn't that cool. he told me that your mom and Dad are doing great! i think he is now  good friends with Benson. he told me that he see Benson at school all the time.  i also did send other four letters for you. i really love you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Mom;

How are you doing? let me hope that you are having fun in Uganda. I finally received the he package. thank you so much for the gum, sunflower seeds , Gold fish and the letters. I can't tell you how happy i was to receive it on Wednesday night. that night i had to cook roman. Which was really good. thank!

This week was pretty good accept we have no water and power for two week. Now we have to buy water for three cedis each one .The guys in my apartment went and buy dog meat and they wanted me to try it. i was like i wanna eat my dog when i got home but the dog  with rice  pretty good. it is like  chicken meat. Is Benson having fun?  I love you mama!!

 How is Uganda for you guys? how is Benson and Whitney finding Uganda? How is the kids at St Judy doing?  I'm doing great here! This week was really good. I and my Companion we are have be looking for people to teach for last two months. We have  been praying to the Lord so that we will be able to find someone who is interested in our massage. Lost week the Lord started answering our players. Every day we were going out we also got somebody to teach. We now have many investigators to teach. The miracle happened on Friday when i and my companion had the gospel conversation with this one guy . He got so interested in our massage and he wanted us to teach him the next day. we went to him and the first thing he said to us was i really wanna be baptized. because i know i have made many bad things  against God. I asked him whether he want to follow the example of Jesus Christ and repent of his sins and be baptized. he said yes!!! After i looked at my companion he was so happy. Even me i was very happy. 

Hey Mather Guess what? I'm so sorry to say this especially on my mission. So on firday  I and my champanion we were sitting down waiting for the people to have a gospel conversation with them. So this one Ghanian cute girl was passing by so i decided to G.C  her. she was very cute i and my companion we asked her where she stays so that we can teach her. then she gave us the directions to her home. When we went there we found her grandma making fufu . She told us that their are busy. so far that is the cutest girl i have seen here in Ghana. i love you so much Mother!!!! thank you for the good work you are doing to help the kids in Africa. Tell my brother Benson to have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HI Mother, 

how are you doing today? That was really cool that we had to talk on the phone. i am glad that yesterday was mother day. i also called father and he was doing wonderful. he told me that he is going to send me a letter. Guess the time we went to bed lost night? 3:30 because all of the elders were busy talking to their families. we always have devotional in the morning but this morning ti did not happen. I did walk up at 10:40. my companion walk  at 11:0. i can't tell you after talking to you guys on the phone. i really started missing home. i did send  three letters two for you one for the grandparents. i just talked to Emma on the email about my exams. he was also pretty sad about it. then he told me that he can can sit the S.4 again for me while i am on my mission.So that i can get good results. i not know whether it is right. i truly love you mother!!!! happy Mother's day again!!!

HI mom,

how are things going for you? I am really excited to talk to you on Sunday. I am going to call you maybe in the morning because we have to watch the conference. I  haven't got the package but i am really excited to receive it. Today we had a soccer  and basketball game as the zone. which was pretty good. For food we went to the member and had Banku and periwinkle mixed with fish. At first i was like i am not gonna eat periwinkle because it was not looking good. The elders told me that if you love the people here in Ghana you have to eat their food. If you don't eat their food they will not like you or invite you to teach them. Even on Friday  i was not feeling good because we had to walk four milers to the place called Komfueku .it was pretty hot. Even got a ache on that day.  I and my companion we know have two areas to teach. i love you.

how is every body doing?

This week was not so exciting for us. One of our invesitagor she is called Blessing. We have been teaching her for a month and half now. Since we started teaching her . she has bee coming to church. We did ask her if she wanna be baptised and she said why not. she is really excited for her baptism. On saterday morning me and my champanion. We were thinking of what to teach her.The we dicided to teach the low of chastity and the word of wisdom. But when we were teacing the the low of chastity she was not paying attantion to us . We did explain to her the low of chastity very wall. On Sunday we did talk to the bishop how scrius is Blessing. The bishop told us that Blessing family member told him that she was braking the low of chastity for a living. For me and my champanion we a going to teachher more about repentance.

Dear MOM and Dad,

How is every one doing? How is every one doing? it is pretty good pictures of you guys!!!!!!!!

This week was pretty fun. one of our church members killed a goat for four of us. She also made fufu  us. The goat meat was very good . we also had a party in our apartment. Adams and Egbert were celebrating their one year mark. We went to the shop to buy five liters of chocolate ice cream. I through that we can't eat five liters of chocolate ice cream in one night. But Guess what?we did eat it in one night.WE also played bowing. 

Yesterday we had a big meeting containing five zones. we played foot ball and watched a movie called walk to remember which was pretty good. I met two Elders one form Sudan and anther form Uganda. The one form Uganda did not know that i know how to speak Luganda.I asked him whether he know mike. He told me that he know mike. He also played soccer with mike. He is really a good guy. we gonna be emailing each other.  

DO you think it is okay to send me a copy of my patriarchal blessing?

HI Mother,

Thank you so much for that letter it really made me feel good. How is every body doing in the family? i do know that God is there and i truest in him all the time. All of last week i was warred about how my life is gonna be after my mission. I do remember when we had a lesson about challenges many people. The question was like whey do God want us to face challenges. the answer is that some time God want to see whether we still have faith in him. 

Sorry i did spend most of my money we i was in London. i wanted to buy hamburger before i go to Ghana. I also had to buy a new shoe because the one i have the a getting so old and we do use 40 cedis a week. Last week was so exciting i went on a split with a missionary called Elder Hintze form Utah. He is so spiritual guy. But Guess what? He told me that you know what elder Gillies. I am not gonna help you out with your area. I will help you teach. that day was really sweet for me. except we had to walk five miles to the place called Komfueku. After the lessons he told me that i am really getting better at teaching and even to speak fanti. We had anther baptism  last Sunday. I really enjoyed the Church because most of your investigators attended the church which was wonderful. I am done with the training so Guess what is it's gonna happen? Next week is the Transferees so i do not know whether I am staying or living. But to me i do not wanna live because i am used to the people in Shama. They are so kind. the make me smile all the time. Everyone knows my name. Even the little kids call me Elder gilles. 

Hey how was your Easter. for us here it is getting so crazy. Easter here started Saturday which was a dead day. we did not see anyone on that day. Even right know people went to the beach to swim. the music is so loud here. i Love you so much Mother. say Hi to everyone for me. share

Hi MoM

how is Uganda for you? how long are you gonna be there?

The last week i was really feeling bad. My ears were really paining i had to call sister shulz. She told me that i am gonna go to the hospital on Saturday. we went there and the doctor was not round. Sorry about yesterday i did not get a chance to use a computer because we were at the beach all day. The beach was really fun. We played soccer even we did eat there. Guess what was the food? it was fufu and duck meat. It was really awful eating duck meat. Many of us we got stomach sick.

The biggest problem here is water. We haven't had water for a week which is pretty lawful. We  now use the water in the small bags which is really expensive to buy. To bath i use five and other three guys use two. it is very hard flush the toilet. We are dump in the bush every morning and evening. The power is doing the same thing we can have it for nine hours then it get off after that.

My   first apartment is really nice.We do have everything that a missionary can have. We even have a refrigerator which is pretty cool. Many people here in Ghana do sleep outside because it gets so hot in their house at night. But for us we do have a fan. If the power goes off we go outside because we can not sleep in the apartment.

In the mission we have four missionary form Uganda. Two sisters and two brothers. One of them she is my zone whereby i do see her every week. But Guess what? She does not wanna serve in Ghana because everything is really hard for her. Yesterday we were talking about the food.She told that fufu is really hard for her to eat. She even told me that teaching is very hard because all the time She is thinking home. She  did talk to the president Shulz about it and he said She is gonna go back home to do a local mission. I really feel so sad for her.

Feb. 25th

Hi Mom and Dad 

How is every body doing? Let me hope that you are had much fun staying at the carbon! I am doing great but has you know that not all days are good. Some time you may make appointment with the investigators and the sad thing is that you go to their homes when they are pretty busy. just like on Tuesday we had one lesson because the investigator they were saying that we are busy. Then on Thursday we had six lesson which was pretty amazing! yesterday was our preparation day so we went  play soccer at the breach, cleaning the apartment, washing our clothing and going shopping for a week. Sorry for not emailing I just did not get a enough time. Happy birthday Mommy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love you and miss you so much. Guess what? I really do not know what is going on with my baby he keeps on growing bigger and bigger every day. May be because of egg, fufu, and rice. I do know? can you please tell Sister Ami Zahajko, Sister Morriss, and Wiley that i really receive their letters and i really appreciate them. 

  

Ete sen Mommy and Dad? meaning how are you mom and dad?

Every thing is going great for me! Thank you so much Mom for Teaching me how to make rice because know it is the only food i eat. my companion he always want me to make rice for every body in the apartment.Guess what? My companion told me that we have to share money and the food which i do not like because he do not want to use his money.He want to use only my money so i told him that I am done sharing money. My district they are planning to buy a dog which is about 30 Ghana cedis so i said that i am not going to eat. The three elders told me that if i do not eat meat i will become a vegetarian so i told them that i will never eat the dog! I have the problem teaching the because few people speak English here so i told my companion that i have to learn the Ghanian Language. I can say some simple words which is really good. 

First Area Week 1

Hi mom! every thing is going well for me. I am serving in the place called shama it is really a cool place. I have my new companion his name is called Elder Richards form Arizona. He is really a wonderful Missionary he works so had to bring people unto Christ. He makes break fast for me everyday Which is eggs and water.My mission is really good yesterday at my beach i got to baptize to people which was really amazing. People here in Ghana they really want hear the Gospel. Guess what? many  people here think that am form Ghana because i got so black form the whether and they want me to speak their language. Every one I tell that I am form US they say that am lying because i don't look like a white dude. 
The church i got to is really Small contains like 45 people and some times they few don't came. people here a very friendly and loving but the bad thing is that few people speak English so it is very had for me to teach the Gospel.Today we came together the all District to play soccer at the breach which was great i made seven goals and every body was like which team do you play for back home and i was like i  used to play for Seattle sounder so they said that is really cool. then after that we want to the bank to get some money which is 200 ciders each one for one month. We can not belive how  much we really walk every day it's like 8 to 9 miles to get to our place were we teach but the spirit is so strong here. I am really glad that i came on a mission because every body is kind and sweet. I love you form the moon and back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really can not wait to talk you on mother's day.

Someone Loves his Mommy!

HI every body? how is every thing going for you! yesterday i got a chance to go to the Ghana tample which was wanderful. today is my lost day at the MTC. it has been  a wonderful expeience the spirit is so so strong  here at the MTC the Elders and sisters a really  loving and friendly. Many of my fiends from Nigeria they left to day to go and serve in lagos Nigeria and me and my firends we are living tomorrow to go to the cope coast. I am really enjoying my mission and greatful that i was able to serve a mission. It is very fun to learn how to bring the peaple to come unto christ. today is a sad day for me and friends because we really miss our firends who left today. The food is really good and you can see in the picture that my baby is grown! we eat rich meat.

He Arrived! First Message Home!

 Hi Mom

how are you doing? I made it okay in Ghana and every thing is going well. When i was it the air port in Landon met with Elder hardy from Utah going to the Ghana mission and he is doing to be serving at the cape coast mission. we  had  fun talking to each other in London  he is really a cool guy  and in the MTC  he is like my companion. we arrived in the MTC last night so hard to get something to eat which was bread and water for dinner. MTC is very  good elder are welcoming. We herd  for break fast egg, bread  water and Orange which was really good. I am gonna try to write to letters too I love you so much.
